Marcus Sorenson has opted not to return to the National Hockey League for the 2021-22 season and beyond. After drawing interest at the trade deadline, Sorenson would’ve been expected to be signed in North America, however, that wasn’t the case, and he will join Djurgardens IF in the SHL.
Sorenson, 29, had one goal and five points through 29 games played last season and had 31 goals and 64 points throughout his 226 game career in the NHL.
This contract has Sorenson playing until the end of the 2024-25 season, where he will be 33 years old. The Nordic winger may not be up to NHL-level by then, but a return eventually may be something to look forward to.
